Call us at 757-446-1401 to set up an appropriate placement class. Once we place you or your child in a level, a tuition payment will be set, and we will help you with any other questions you may have.

Every child will move when music is playing, but we at BVI feel strongly that you do not start a child younger than three years of age. They also must be fully potty trained. A solid start to dance training is working on gross motor skills and the tools to "learn how to learn."

At BVI, our highly trained professional faculty will teach a dancer how to dance, not just a collection of dances that will be performed at a recital. Technique, performance skills and safe solid training will allow any dancer to have the choice for a professional career, or college dance program.

We have a full schedule of classes that are available at drop-in rates for those who want to supplement the training they are presently receiving at another dance studio.

You are never too old to start ballet. If you are serious and are thinking about becoming a professional dancer, there is an age limit for such an expectation. Otherwise, dance is a wonderful form of exercise and is a great stress reliever for all ages.

BVI offers many performance opportunities, and there are various ways this can be achieved. All dancers are invited to perform in the Student Performance in June, as well as audition to be involved in The Nutcracker and other story ballets that will be performed.

The tuition for the sessions is broken down by monthly payments. All students pay a non-refundable registration fee. If for some reason you are not planning on returning, let us know prior to the following months tuition due date.

In our experience, the vast majority of our students find a true passion with ballet. The hours are long, and it is hard work, but just like baseball, or gymnastics, or skating, if you like it, the work is fun. Most of our dancers find a special group of friends away from school or work that share their passion and love for dance.

We allow skirts in our community classes and sweat pants can be worn too. However, it is important for us to be able to see your body for proper alignment and muscle usage.

You will be amazed at the different shapes and sizes of our dancers.

For our children’s program, classes are closed at 15. For the other levels, classes are closed at 20 to 30 students depending on age and studio space.
